Himalayan Suspended Rope Walkway

  • The highest suspended rope walkway in the Czech Republic
  • The supporting structure consists of 4 parallel steel cables, each with a diameter of 34 mm
  • The main cables are spiral six-strand ropes, 34 mm in diameter, composed of 6 x 36 wires
  • The estimated lifespan of the steel cables is 30 years
  • Each cable can carry 35 tons
  • The total length of all steel wire strands is 136 km
  • Maximum cable sag under load is 50 cm
  • Hand-woven mesh railings, crafted in protected workshops, span 320 meters and stand 140 cm tall
  • One 10-meter section of mesh took 2 days to weave, and the entire mesh took 2 months to complete
  • Maximum slope of the walkway is 12.3°, which equals 21.7%
  • The structural height of the walkway (axial distance of the cables) is 1,470 mm
  • The exit point of the rope walkway on the tower is at a height of 14 meters
  • The walkway rises in elevation by 12.6 meters
  • The steel structure of the walkway was completed for the assembly of the wooden deck and nets at the end of October 2018
  • The final adjustment was carried out at the end of November, and a dynamic test was performed at the beginning of December 2018
  • When the walkway is deliberately rocked, it can achieve resonance with significant amplitudes. This may partially or completely limit the movement of other people on the walkway, but without endangering their safety or the stability of the structure
