Roe Deer and Eurasian Lynx

Roe Deer

• Height at withers up to 85 cm
• Length up to 130 cm
• Weight 17-35 kg
• The roe deer’s tail measures a maximum of 3 cm
• Over 300,000 individuals live in the Czech Republic
• Around 100,000 are hunted annually
• Roe deer rutting season runs from July to August
• The roe deer doesn’t bark but bleats

Eurasian Lynx

• Height 65-75 cm
• Body length without tail up to 150 cm
• Male weight around 30 kg
• The lynx can jump over obstacles up to 4 meters high
• It has very dense fur, with up to 9,000 hairs per cm² on its back
• A mouse can be seen from up to 75 meters away, and a roe deer from 500 meters
• A hare can be heard nibbling on twigs from up to 60 meters
• About 20 lynxes live in the Beskydy Mountains
